As a guest, you are responsible for any traffic tickets incurred during your rental period. This includes fines for parking violations, moving violations, and any other infractions related to the use of the vehicle.

Key Points

Responsibility for Tickets: Guests are accountable for all tickets issued during their rental period.

Handling Tickets:

If you plan to handle the ticket yourself, you will not incur any extra fees.

If Drive lah receives the ticket from the host, the amount of the fine will be charged to your credit card used for the rental. You may also be charged an administrative fee.

Moving Violations with Points: If you receive a ticket for a moving violation that adds points to the host's license, the host may request that the liability be transferred to you.

You will be notified if this occurs, and Drive lah will assist in transferring the liability to you by providing the necessary information to the ticketing agency.

If notarization is required for the transfer, Drive lah will provide your host with specific personal details needed for this process. You will be notified of this action.

How It Works

Receiving a Ticket: If you receive a traffic ticket during your rental, you must take responsibility for it. You can either pay the ticket directly or notify Drive lah if you intend to handle it.

Notification of Ticket: If Drive lah receives the ticket from the host:

The fine amount will be charged to the credit card used for the rental.

An administrative fee may also be applied.

Transferring Liability for Moving Violations: In cases of moving violations that affect the host’s license points:

The host may request to transfer the liability of the fine to you.

Drive lah will notify you and provide the necessary information to the ticketing agency for the transfer.

Notarization Process: If notarization is required to complete the transfer, Drive lah will share only the personal details necessary for this process with your host. You will be notified if this step occurs.

Important Notes

Administrative Fees: In addition to the ticket amount, you may incur an administrative fee if Drive lah processes the ticket.

Personal Information: Drive lah will only provide your personal information to your host for the purpose of completing the notarization, if required. Outside of this, your personal information will remain confidential.

Ticket Disputes: If you believe the ticket was issued in error, you are responsible for contesting the ticket directly with the relevant authorities. Drive lah will not intervene in disputes between you and the ticketing agency.

Example Scenario

Example 1: If you are driving and receive a parking ticket, you are responsible for the fine. If you inform Drive lah that you will pay it yourself, no additional fees will apply.

Example 2: If you receive a moving violation ticket that results in points on the host’s license, the host can request that the ticket liability be transferred to you. Drive lah will notify you of this, and you may need to provide information for the transfer to be completed.
