The mileage refers to the maximum number of kilometers a guest is allowed to drive your vehicle during their rental period. If the guest exceeds this limit, additional charges will apply as per Drive lah's fees and fines policy.
Key Points
Mileage Limit: Each host can set a mileage limit for their vehicle, specifying the maximum number of kilometers a guest can drive per day.
Exceeding the Mileage Limit: If the guest drives beyond the set mileage limit, they will incur additional charges based on Drive lah's fees and fines policy.
Fuel Charges: Regardless of the mileage driven, the guest is responsible for paying for the fuel used during the trip. This cost is separate from any mileage-related fees.
How It Works
Set Mileage Limit: Hosts define the maximum number of kilometers a guest can drive each day.
Exceeding the Limit: If the guest exceeds the mileage, a charge is applied based on the excess distance driven.
Fuel Costs: In addition to the mileage charges, the guest must pay for the fuel used during the rental. This is not affected by the mileage limit.
What to Do if the Mileage Limit is Exceeded
Check the Odometer: Hosts should check the vehicle’s odometer to confirm if the guest has exceeded the allowed mileage. Then report to us.
Example: If a host sets a mileage limit of 100 km per day, and the guest drives 120 km, the guest will be charged for the 20 km over the limit according to Drive lah's policy.
How the Charge Works
Excess Mileage Calculation:
The charge for excess mileage is calculated based on the distance driven beyond the mileage limit set for the trip.
The cost for each additional kilometre driven is $0.60 per kilometre.
Host Share:
80% of the excess mileage charge is paid to the host, to compensate them for the wear and tear on their vehicle.
Drive lah Share:
Drive lah retains 20% of the excess mileage charge.
Reporting and Payment:
The excess mileage charge is added to the host’s account.
The charge is collected from the guest and processed according to the host’s request.
