The cancellation policy depends on the type of booking (regular or instant) and when the cancellation is made in relation to the scheduled trip time.

How to Cancel Your Trip

Guests can cancel their trips directly through our website or mobile app. The cancellation takes effect immediately, and the refund will depend on when the cancellation occurs.

Refund Breakdown Based on Cancellation Timing

If you cancel your trip early:

The guest will receive a partial refund, with 80% of the payment returned to them as credits. The host will receive 80% of the cash paid by the guest, excluding any promo discounts used by the guest.

Example:

If a guest paid $100, and used a $20 promo, the host will only receive $80 (excluding the discount).

Cancellation of Modified Trips

If a guest requests a modification to their trip and the host accepts, the cancellation policy remains tied to the original booking time. The free cancellation period will not reset following a modification.

Key point: Modifying a trip does not give the guest a fresh cancellation period.

Cancellation Due to COVID-19

The standard cancellation policy applies in all cases. COVID-19-related circumstances are no longer considered unforeseen or exceptional, and therefore will not be eligible for a refund exception. Guests should carefully review the cancellation policy when booking.

Cancellation by Drive lah

In rare cases, Drive lah may need to cancel a trip after booking. This could be for reasons such as fraud prevention, safety concerns, or trust and safety considerations.

What happens when Drive lah cancels the trip:

  • Guests will receive a full refund.

  • Hosts will generally not receive earnings from trips canceled by Drive lah.

  • Exceptional Circumstances:

  • In rare situations, Drive lah may cancel a trip without penalty to either the guest or host. These cases are at the sole discretion of Drive lah and are designed to protect the interests of both parties.
