Overview:
If you return the car with less fuel than when your trip started, you will be charged for the missing fuel. This applies to both standard trips and trips with fuel inclusion. If you selected a fuel package, you do not need to top up before returning the car, but you will be charged based on distance driven.
When will a guest be charged for fuel?
You will be charged if any of the following apply:
You did not top up fuel before returning the car (for non-fuel package trips)
The fuel level is lower than at the start of your trip
There is no valid receipt or proof of refuelling
You selected a fuel package (charges will be based on distance instead of fuel level)
How fuel charges are calculated
1. If you and the host agree on fuel used
You will be charged the fuel used (litres) Γ $5.50 + service fee
2. If there is no agreement
You will still be charged $5.50 per litre of missing fuel + service fee
Example
If 20 litres of fuel are missing: Charge = 20 Γ $5.50 = $110 + service fee
What proof should I provide?
To avoid charges, make sure to upload the ff:
A clear fuel receipt showing date and amount
A photo of the fuel gauge after refuelling
If proof is missing or unclear, fuel charges will still apply based on available trip data provided by the host or previous records.
Special case: Fuel package (fuel Inclusion)
If your trip includes a fuel package, you do not need to top up fuel before returning the car, instead, you will be charged based on distance driven (per km)
Rates per km:
Car Category | Charge to Guest |
Regular cars | $0.44/km |
High fuel consumption cars | $0.61/km |
EVs | $0.32/km |
Reminders:
Always return the car with the same fuel level as received
Upload complete and accurate proof if you refuel
Missing or incomplete proof may result in charges
Ensure to read the details before adding the fuel package
