Below is a list of what we require from a vehicle to become eligible for listing on the Drive lah marketplace.
Hosts are responsible for ensuring their vehicles consistently meet these standards.
Visual overview and legal registration
Certificate of registration
License plate(s) decal (sticker)
Valid in force Insurance
Brake tests
Parking brake: Functional
Service brake: Minimum 25% brake pad life remaining
Exhaust system
Undamaged exhaust system components/muffler (part of the exhaust system that reduces noise)
No visible blue or black smoke
Steering and suspension
Steering wheel and box: Functional and without excessive play
Suspension/front end: No visible damage or excessive wear
Springs: Undamaged
Shocks: Functional, without leaks
Vehicle height: Within legal limits
Horn
Sound horn to test for adequate signal
The horn must be securely fastened to the vehicle
Glazing, glass, and windshield wipers
Windshield: No cracks; no chips in the line of sight
Windshield wipers and washer: In working order
Windows: No cracks
Tint: To legal specifications (hosts are responsible for adhering to local tinting laws)
Engine and powertrain
Engine, including all subcomponents: Functioning correctly
Cooling system: No leaks, functioning correctly
Lubrication system: No leaks, functioning correctly
Electrical and electronic management systems: Functioning correctly
Transmission, including clutch, torque converter, and similar components: Functioning correctly
All fluids and lubricants: At appropriate levels, no leaks
No check engine light, warning lights, or recalls (any such issues must be resolved prior to listing)
Visibility and lighting devices
Headlight aim: Within legal limits
Headlights and rear lights: Working, no bulbs burned out
Hazard lights, directionals/stop/reverse lights, and license plate light(s): Working
Reflectors: Present and in good condition
Rear view mirror: Secure and functional
Mirrors (general): Secure and provide adequate visibility
Tires and wheels
Tires: 4/32 inch or greater tread depth
Tires: 6 years old or newer
Seat belts and airbags
No airbag warning lights or recalls (any such issues must be resolved prior to listing)
No safety restraint system (SRS) or occupant classification system (OCS) warning lights or recalls (any such issues must be resolved prior to listing)
Body, including all seals and panels
No hanging body panels
No damage to the floor pan, cowl panel (the part of the bodywork at the base of the windshield), or structural pillars
Failure to consistently maintain your car to these standards may result in its removal from the platform. You are responsible for all costs resulting from failing to properly maintain your car.
